Contemporary craft in fine art is the emphasis of our program. Our facilities include a wood and metal shop, sewing/fibers studio, and a large shared gallery/open workspace. Several other secondary spaces are available for interpretation.
During your residency you will be provided with a private bedroom and studio space. A small kitchen, bathroom and common area is nearby and may be lightly used by other artists working in the building. Collaboration and communal awareness is key for a successful experience.
The residency program runs in two cycles in the spring and fall with one visiting artist per month. Average residency duration is 2-3 weeks but more or less may be granted based on the scope of work you hope to create.
This is a donation based residency program. Please consider how you can contribute to Standard Projects - whether through a gallery event, workshop, artist talk, or donation to the residency archive.
