The middle of winter seemed like a good time to tackle the bathroom renovation. This was a huge learning process for me so it took nearly all of January! The bathroom was all the original fixtures from 1952, but not in a good way. Everything came out, tiled floor, painted walls and installed trim. I made the cabinet from antique windows and wood lath. The cast iron sink was moved from the garage and installed here to match the stylings of the clawfoot tub. Though it had been used as a slop sink for over six decades, mineral deposits built up and ironically protected the enamel surface beneath. The right faucets and lighting slowly popped up at the Habitat ReStore to finish out the room.
